This afternoon I was reinstalling my two-way amateur (ham) radio back into my truck and began digging through the centre console/armrest. It’s kind of amazing what sort of stuff you can find in these places as they aren’t used much. But in my truck, you’ll always find a roll of bunwad. Ya just never know when you may need to take a dump somewhere in the desert! OK, that was crude man… but it can happen!
Anyway, I found a flash drive in there that has my favourite music on it, and my old CD collection too. Bringing the drive inside and popping in on my MacBook, I found all the music, but found a folder with some photos in it. Hmmm. Turns out these are some lost photos from the Lord knows when I put them on there. It was a nice surprise! I don’t drive into the desert as much these days for photos. Enjoy the photos!
The first two photos have the Lamadre Mountains in them, the first has Joshua Trees, the second has Yucca and Buckhorn Cholla in the foreground. The third photo was taken perhaps near Bonnie Springs Ranch. Interesting fact: the Joshua Tree grows only in the Mojave Desert, nowhere else in the world and is a member of the Yucca family. They can live hundreds of years in our sometimes harsh High Desert Climate.
Mojave Desert love…
