Straight From The iPhone

Sometimes my iPhone seems to take better balanced photos than the Nikon does. User error? This is a big file, it may take a moment to load unless you have a super fast ISP as I do. I left this one huge on purpose… Love the Red Rock Escarpment! This view is roughly four miles south of Red Rock Canyon proper. Click the photo.

  1. Very nice – particularly the different colours in the rock.

    • Thanks Val! This is an Escarpment, or a fault line, hence all the awesome colours. Other mountains nearby are made of very different rock yet so ancient. 200 million years ago, this place was a shallow sea. I have found and seen imprints of ancient sea creatures. In a desert, over 3000 feet above sea level. The Mojave Desert never leaves you dry!

A Note From Abroad
