Once again I found my four legged friends near Bonnie Springs Ranch! They are so docile and cute. one donkey apparently had an itchy tail, then walked over to groom his friend who was taking shade under a Joshua Tree. More donkey photos to come. 🌴🌵

  1. Great captures! Reminds me of the wild ponies we have here on the East Coast on Chincoteague Island! 🙂

      • You would love them, they live on the island sand dunes. They just had the 2018 Chincoteague Pony Swim, where they coral up a certain number and swim them across the channel “saltwater cowboy style” to put up for charity auction. It is a long-standing huge event, you can search to see this year’s photos. The event also keeps their population under control. The children’s book, Misty of Chincoteague, by Marguerite Henry, was penned in 1947 about these wild ponies. They are fascinating, I have enjoyed going to see them!
