I was thinking earlier this eve about why cigarettes are not in excess of $100.00 dollars per carton. Accessing Mr. Google, I dug up this link which is congruent with my brainwaves at the time. I got the idea from an anti-smoking TV commercial. So, why am I on about this? Answer: I started smoking as a young kid, and smoked for a very long time continuously. Totally sucks.
Since 2002, I have been living with Congestive Heart Failure, and recently my blood pressure has gone chronically high which has been tough to keep track of. I check it four or five times per day as it can sometimes have a sudden upswing. Bottom line? I can’t handle the smell of a cigarette today, and it’s been since 2002 that I quit Cold Turkey after the diagnosis.
It ain’t worth it folks. Rounded down, lets say $6.00 per pack today. Long story short, that’s roughly $2100.00 per year that these nasty tobacco companies take from us, and they take so much more. It ain’t worth it folks.
Please, I am not attacking folks who smoke, that’s none of my business what others do. Think of it as a public service message right? hehe. By the way, the words Grit and Grits are words my buddies and I used to ask for or describe cigarettes in the 1980’s. Useless factoid about me that you likely don’t care about! (wink wink)
