Calcium Carbonate and Sandstone

I am no chemical specialist or geologist but the mountains of the La Madre’ mountains in the distance are made of calcium or something like that while the others are sandstone with iron, causing the red colours. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong! In any case, this is a beautiful scene from Calico Basin!
