I’ll Be Staying Put…

Some of my followers are aware that I have been wrestling with moving to Florida for some time now. It’s a bit of a story, so I will keep this super short. In 1993, I lost a home and a new car to a major flooding event in Florida. I left Florida in 1993, never went back except to visit family of course.

In the last several weeks, I have thought plenty about this. The summer of 2017 saw serious, major flooding and storms for all of Florida, Texas and the entire Gulf Coast. I simply do not want to put myself and my property in a place where I could lose everything because of a major hurricane.

Add to this, I have Diabetes that needs medication daily, as well as Chronic High Blood Pressure. Once those medications run out in a worse case scenario, I am basically dead to be blunt. It makes much more sense to stay in Las Vegas with our beautiful year round climate, no tornadoes, no hurricanes and plenty of sunshine. I am addicted to sunshine and palm trees and acclimated to the Mojave Desert. All of this said, why leave?

  1. With those medical problems, best to be in a place where you can stay calm and also be close to medical services.

  2. Good. Maybe we will actually meet some time. I like having new friends and consider you as one.

A Note From Abroad

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sailaway from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” ~ Mark Twain
