Begging

There is nothing good about this photograph other than to say that I can personally verify there is far too much of this sadness in Las Vegas. This is not meant to speak poorly of my beautiful adopted state and city of course. What baffles me is that as Americans, we all pay billions of dollars of taxes to the creeps in Washington, regardless of which party is in the White House,  yet people go hungry here.

Many veterans are also doing this same thing on the streets of Las Vegas as I can verify, having seen these people with my own eyes. That’s a bloody disgrace and should never, ever happen in the United States. It matters not if it were President Obama, President Trump, President Carter, President Clinton or President Bush. I am ashamed of my government for not using American Taxpayer money to help these people.

  1. Have you traveled down Washington Blvd or Bonanza and seen the “tent city”? That really puts our homelessness into a reality.

    • Do you mean in Las Vegas? I’ve never seen anything like that in that area, but it’s an area of the city I avoid.

      • Yes in Vegas. It is heartbreaking to say the least driving through. It was my route to work for many years on my way to teach in that part of our community. A reality check that keeps us humble, grateful and prayers for a better tomorrow. (Keep in mind their children also attend our local schools, when they can).

  2. Unfortunately, not all are Veterans and not all got in that position, unwittingly.

A Note From Abroad

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sailaway from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” ~ Mark Twain
