  1. Authentic? We were traveling — I think it was through San Luis Obispo — anyway, we asked some locals where we could get some authentic Mexican food. They recommended a fancy, expensive, sit-down place which, they said, served the best Mexican food in the Central Valley. I don’t remember the name of the place, but the sign should have said Taco Bell, or Del Taco. No kidding, the food was that awful. I have found that Mexican food becomes less authentic the further you are from the border.

    • Well, I’ve had some great food at the Mom and Pops places around here… The food I had in Cabo San Lucas was beyond fantastic some years ago. Taco Bell is Taco Hell man!
