Authentic? We were traveling — I think it was through San Luis Obispo — anyway, we asked some locals where we could get some authentic Mexican food. They recommended a fancy, expensive, sit-down place which, they said, served the best Mexican food in the Central Valley. I don’t remember the name of the place, but the sign should have said Taco Bell, or Del Taco. No kidding, the food was that awful. I have found that Mexican food becomes less authentic the further you are from the border.

Well, I’ve had some great food at the Mom and Pops places around here… The food I had in Cabo San Lucas was beyond fantastic some years ago. Taco Bell is Taco Hell man!
