This is a closeup of one of my ham radio antennas that is used in mobile applications such as cars and trucks. The antenna is about four foot long and operates on two sets of radio frequency bands which are 144-149mhz and 430-450mhz. The twist in the antenna is what phases the two bands together with one antenna. It’s complicated to explain really unless you understand EMF and some physics.
