It would be a good place to hide, among the Creosote bushes and others… Those roofs are covers over picnic tables and charcoal grilles. I wanted to photograph the cute little birds and Golden Mantled Ground Squirrels that like to hang out here, but with all of the construction going on there wasn’t much around in terms of my favorite desert critters. Bummer…
Is Calico Ghost Town still in existence? I remember that place from years ago.

Oh OK. I’ve seen the exit for Yermo along the 15 freeway way down there someplace. Our Calico Basin is along Charleston Boulevard basically next to Red Rock Canyon proper.
