This lone Damselfly fluttered in my face a bit then landed on an ancient seafloor boulder near me. Of course I had to go for the shot! I remember these little beauties landing on me as a boy in Michigan living on the lake. Since they are predatory and live near bodies of water they were always around on the lake shores and me on the boat! Calico Basin hosts Red Spring, a natural spring flowing from under the mountain, hence the little beauties are seen in the middle of the beautiful Mojave Desert!
This is a fantastic shot! These damselflies are so hard to photo. The color is superb.
Wow thanks sooo much! I was actually a bit excited to see one of these cuties waaaay south of Michigan! In a desert.
Awesome captures, John, nice sighting!
Thanks so much Donna! These flies have a special memory for me.
