A Visit to Roberto’s Taco Shop

Well, those delicious tacos were once again calling to me this morning and I couldn’t resist! While waiting, I thought to grab a photo of the logo, and me with it since the place was empty. Not very good photos!

How nice I look with my eyes closed too, eh? Anyway, the tacos are always delicious, this place has far more than tacos of course but I’m a man of limited interests. And proof that sometimes ya gotta laugh at yourself!

On a different note, I’ve removed twenty businesses today which if you have followed this site for a while will know are always removed. This is a daily record. How many of your blog or website followers are actual, genuine followers to the best of your knowledge? Have a look…

Remembering Christmas 2019

Thinking this morning of what has happened since our family Christmas 2019 in Michigan, I think these color images turned grayscale fit the bill nicely. And what is yet to come? My family decided unanimously a couple of weeks ago to postpone our usual gathering in Michigan to June 2021.

I’m sad, I’m angry but there is zero anyone can do about the situation. It’s the smart decision, the right decision but it still sucks.

At this time, it’s already been over one full year since I’ve actually laid eyes on any of my family and it hurts. We stay in contact of course, but it’s just not the same but I’m grateful for the technology that allows us to stay in contact. These converted photos of home seem appropriate.

Under The Canopy

I’ve been using the Sony RX100 around the house yesterday and today mostly because I’m bored. The little camera is attached to a mini tripod which makes handling it much easier. Snap, click. The little mirrorless camera does a hell of a good job and is so much easier to maneuver than the big Nikon. Here are some Lantana photos, both plants are still doing really well with daily watering in the morning and afternoon.

Would You Enter?

This is one of many drainage and flood control channels around Las Vegas. Sadly, people are living in these channels near the Las Vegas Strip and elsewhere in the city.

This is sad and very dangerous too, a flash flood can happen during monsoon season. This year’s monsoon rains once again never came though. Would you enter the gaping hole?

Foothill Homes

Taken yesterday at the little park, you can see how homes have crept into any buildable area on the slopes of the west side. This has me wonder how new homes can continue to be built considering the current state of things. Are there enough jobs here to afford these homes? I sure hope so!

Today’s Joyride

Here are four photos taken this afternoon on another joyride as I call them. Basically just getting the hell out of the house for a bit. Today is the clearest sky I’ve seen around here for several days now, and almost zero clouds too. nice! It’s not as warm today as the weather service claimed it would be which is nice.

When the temperature becomes more autumn-like, I will be taking some slow hikes around Calico Basin and other areas. Great photo opportunities, and great for the body! I really need the exercise too…

Red Rock Canyon Proper

In this image, you are looking west and at what I believe is the east end of the canyon proper. You can not see the canyon as it’s only visible when in front of you. Basically a major cut or gash on the surface of the desert. It’s huge, really huge, and worth the entry fee into this BLM managed park which also has a thirteen mile very scenic and beautiful drive. At the moment, I don’t know what the entry fee is though, sorry.
