This iPhone photo from 2017 shows a place very dear to me. The property in the foreground is where I lived during my high school years in Michigan. I grew up just down the road, on the same lake. My sister now owns the home which is great as the home is still in the family.
I was in Michigan to attend my daughter’s delayed wedding reception and I chose to forego the Nikon on this trip which I now seriously regret. Top this off with having missed her wedding due to severe thunderstorm complexes in and around Chicago O’Hare. I’m still pissed about this, she is of course so disappointed.
Regardless, a wonderful time was had by all attendees, some of which I had not seen in a very long time. Not seeing them again would have been OK too! Take my advice, when it comes to very important life events, ditch the iPhone, and use something much better if possible. I could possibly write a book about my years growing up here.
This is so beautiful! πΌππ
Beautiful, John! I’m so sorry about you missing your daughter’s wedding. We know what Chicago weather can be like, don’t we?
I would defo move back there, John! You can always take vacations for warmer weather! That scene in this photo looks like bliss. And I’ve seen the pics of your family’s land and it’s gorgeous! Just sayin’, my friend! Cher xo
Wow, thank you, Cher! My friends here seem to see something I don’t see as clearly I guess. the virus has to be gone before I can seriously consider anything…
I totally understand, John. I know the cold weather isn’t something you particularly care for; however, as my honorary Canadian, I know you can handle it! π It is always important to go with your gut, John. And if one day it feels right, that’s awesome! But if not, then that’s okay too. *Cher will now get down from her soapbox!” π xo
Lovely looking place! A camera phone is better than no camera, especially the newer phones.
I agree, yet the cameras on phones still have a long way to go to catch up with the real thing…
Great place to call home.
Thanks sooo much, Anneli! Basically the best years of my life.
So far. It’s not over yet.
It looks beautiful, John. I agree with Tim, I think Michigan is calling you home.
Thanks, Lavinia. I never expected these comments tonight from you guys. Am I radiating some sort of signal? π€π€ππ€·ββοΈ
Loud and clear, John. π . Home is where your heart is, and your heart is with your family and family home back in Michigan. <3
Time will tell, Lavinia, first thing the damn virus has to go away. Who knows how long this will be.
I think Michigan is calling you back home.
Really? Why is this, Timothy? π€
