I whipped up lunch a bit early today, this pound of ground round needed to be cooked up before it went bad. I was being lazy and skipped the backyard grill too. It’s only ninety today though, not too hot for grilling!

Had a neighbor once who had a natural gas grill in their backyard. It could be mid-winter, snow on the ground, and they’d be grilling!
I’ve done that too in Michigan, still hot enough on the fire!
LOL! Hey, if it tastes better grilled, of course that’s the way to go as long as one can, eh!? The secondary benefit is the grill isn’t just a seasonal cooking tool that way.
Or, put hot dogs on a rod or stick, and just burn ’em up over the gas range in the kitchen, same thing! I’m hungry… 😂
I don’t know how electric burners would substitute, or if there’s an alternative to hot dogs, which I find too salty… It’s a suggestion, though!
Oh they are way too salty, Doug, the BP med compensates. Electric won’t work as there is no actual flame.
I didn’t think so. I rent, so had no choice on the stove. I console myself by noting Julia Child cooked on an electric stove, too. Maybe a propane torch would be sufficient…!
My mother always used electric which seems surprising as gas is so much faster.
Same here. Gas gives you so much better control of heat, it’s surprising that people using electric manage.
You can use a Hibachi or grill outside… Too cold!
True. There are people who would do it in anything but a blizzard! Having lived up north, you probably knew some of these hardy souls.
