In this photo, you are looking southeast at the south end of Las Vegas Valley. The large buildings are a huge hotel and casinos located along the fifteen freeway, well south of the Las Vegas Strip. I was at the highest point I can drive to, within the twelve-mile Scenic Loop which is a US Fee area. Pay to drive into the area, but Red Rock Canyon proper is in the loop. Well worth the entrance fee to see something so beautiful!

Really impressive view. Is there a Senior Discount on the fee, or can you use the US senior Pass?
I’m sorry I can’t give you an answer, good question. I used to have a one year pass, used it a few times. Here is a link that will help. It’s now required to have a damn reservation to enter the park thanks to Covid. The park can get incredibly busy.

Great view.
Thank you. Anneli! One of the many things I love about this desert is the huge wide open space and how far I can see. The lack of trees down here makes for a beautiful view. Drive into the mountains, it’s a bit like Michigan to me sans the altitude. 😎 I hope your weather has improved! 🇨🇦❤️
We are having a few rare days of sunshine. Cold, but sunny!
Yay for free Vitamin Deee! Are you below zero F? I don’t know the metric system at all.
Just above it. Frost on the roofs and crunchy lawns.
OK. Something I learned from so many years in lawn cutting on a commercial basis, is to never walk on grass that’s frosty and white.
It will damage and or kill the grass. I never mowed a crunch lawn but the frost spewing from under the deck might make a cool photo… 😂
I didn’t know that. Good thing our place is quite rural, so no clippy-clippy lawn for us. But good info. Thanks, John.
