Mount Charleston Four

In this set, I visit the beautiful scenic overlook from which you can see basically forever as the overlook is at about 7500 feet up. The information boards will tell you what you are looking at, many very distant peaks are visible including the Sheep Range which is a part of the northern end of Las Vegas Valley.

They also tell you about the Native American tribes that were here long before we European settlers came along. There is a Piute Indian reservation just north of the city along the 95 freeway. The reservation has its own police force too, fully armed officers.

There were two officers in the gas station that I usually visit after touring the mountains yesterday. Respect! They were talking to customers about the freeway being closed down well north of Las Vegas at Creech Air Force Base due to some moron making a bomb threat there. Sickos, man…
