Three Photos At 50 Millimeters

Yesterday I was having a text chat with my dad back up north about what the family was up to. He said he was missing me being there which made me feel sad. This got me thinking about another flight up there before December and the family Christmas. Cold weather is too cold for me.

I got to thinking about what camera I should take this time, the Sony RX100 mark 7 does a great job but it can’t quite compete with the Nikon body and Nikkor lenses. I started digging around for a Prime Lens that will fit my Z6 body with the S series lenses. The one I would like to own is $550 or so dollars and is sold out.

Of course. The next available 50mm Prime lens is available at my favorite camera store in Sahara Avenue and about half the price. But, I got to thinking about the Nikkor 24/70mm lens that’s on the body just now. So, I dialed it down to 50mm and walked to the backyard to try shooting with and without the lens hood attached.

Removing the lens hood will make the camera fit into my tiny suitcase much better. I took three photos, three with and three without the hood attached. All six photos looked identical but this isn’t exactly a totally inclusive test either. But it does show that I can if needed, leave the lens hood at home. A savings of up to $550 bucks!

By the way, it’s currently 103F at my little home in the desert. Come on by and get baked with me, LOL!
