If you are a new follower then you may not have seen these darling Golden Mantled Ground Squirrels on the blog before. They are everywhere in the desert, even in town in some areas but each time I visit Calico Basin they always come out to eat the seeds or peanuts that I toss out for them.
This is the first time I used the 50mm lens for this, the photos look pretty good in spite of no zoom lens. The photo of Turtlehead Peak (the pointed rocks pointed left) was taken from the parking lot for public parking and hiking in Calico Basin. I wish I could go hike there again but it’s too hot in summer, and my heart just would be in it, literally.
This has something to do with why many of my photos are taken from the truck. Can I have my 20-year-old body back? Please… Time is cruel, time is the fire in which we burn.
