These guys were hanging around on the public dock on one of the man-made lakes a good while back. They have wonderful feather colors, don’t they? So beautiful while in flight too.

They appear almost regal.
Yeah, thanks! They say Look at me!! 😂❤️
Cormorants are great birds. My favorite birds. They look special when there is about ten of them drying their wings.
I agree, a group with wings wide, amazing birds in flight too!
These Cormorants are very photogenic 😍
Wow! My favorite birds and amazing moments! I am jealous, John of these great photographs!
Aww thanks so much, Kaya! ❤️
That’s 149.13 miles, Maybe a couple of hours drive. Howdy neighbor! 😂🇨🇦🇺🇸
Great poses! Did you pay them extra to do that?
Yes, $50 bucks each! 😂
Hahaha.
A couple of other water birds but I have never seen a real cormorant!
These are real Cormorants! It’s funny to see waterfowl here in the desert. Vegas is in the middle of nowhere basically. It’s a long flight for them to get here. Canadian Geese, ducks, coots…
I read a post by Derrickjknight where he posted photos of Canadian geese. He lives somewhere in England. Wierd.. I don’t know why Canadian geese would be there.
I follow Derrick too, he runs a great blog. I’ve seen photos of Canadian geese there before and in other countries. Apparently, these large, powerful birds are capable of international flights! A flock flew right over my home a couple of days ago, I thought to my self that the Canadians are here! 🇨🇦
And messy. 😂
I know about that having stepped in goose poop as a kid growing up on the lake in Michigan. Dad always set our standard poodle loose to chase the Poop Squadron off the lawn!
We can’t do that – Kat would eat any poop they left behind.
Isn’t it so odd that some dogs see poop as a chocolate bar? 😂
Kat will eat anything! She obviously sees everything as chocolate.
😂
Cool. We see ducks, geese, swans and
I don’t recall seeing swans here but I suppose the can make the flight too.
We don’t get a lot of them but some. We get sea gulls. Our Saskatchewan ‘seas’ are not that big. We have sizeable lakes up north.
Up north? You are way up north to me, Annmarie!
There are places way north of us. we arent that far from the american border. (240km)
