Thanks, both of my palm trees were skinned a couple of months ago. Usually, the stumps as I call them of the pruned fronds are left intact. The pruning is strictly cosmetic and will not harm the tree but it can be skinned only up to what is called the Heart of the tree. The place where the color of the pruned fronds turns much darker. You never want to cut the heart!

No, that would be heartless.

I really don’t like Palm Trees that much. But, you made the skins look cool!

Thanks! What is it about palm trees you dislike?

They can be pretty but they attract Palmetto Bugs plus the leaves can drop all over the place.

Yes, they can draw bugs but I can’t agree with them dropping fronds. For 20 years I did yard work on an estate in Michigan. Those trees of course drop their leaves each fall creating a big mess to clean up. Grind them up with the lawn mower, or blow them into the woods. Palm trees do nothing like that at all. Yay!!!
Good texture
Thanks, Derrick! I do love my palm trees!
Lots of texture there!
