Four photos from yesterday before the desert sands blew in to sting my eyes! Coots are cute, they make fun chirping sounds too. 64 degrees and continuing high winds until 5 today is a cold forecast! Summer has left the valley!

They have a funny way of walking (and swimming), with their heads bobbing forward at each step, almost like a chicken does. Have you noticed that?
Yes, and those very odd looking feet too. No webs! It seems odd that they are water birds when you see the feet.
It does. Maybe that’s why they do the head lurching, to get themselves moving forward.
They are so tiny, they may need that extra inertia.
