This photo was taken today with the Nikon Z50 looking northeast from where the northbound 215 freeway obviously drops down a long way into the valley, your ears may need to be popped like in an aircraft. Nevada is the most mountainous state in the union directly behind Alaska. Have you been wanting to visit the mountains lately?
The very distant mountain range forms the northern end of Las Vegas Valley

I am not a fan of mountains – other than seeing them in the distance. Being from the prairies, I find them claustrophobic. 🙄
Really, they are usually so far away I assume? A drive into the Spring Mountains here may cure you of that, it’s so beautiful up there at 8000 feet! That’s as high as I can drive, but there are 12,000 footers nearby.
I drove through the Rockies (via Calgary) to Vancouver and took the ferry to Victoria Island. I was so glad to be back on the prairies. 🤦
Wow, you are very fearful of high altitudes? My home is about 2800 feet above sea level!
I am just used to being able to see as far as I can see!
In that case, the desert would make you feel safe. In many places you can see as far as your eyes can see. Our mountain ranges are largely Island Ranges. Tall mountains surrounded by miles of nothing!
That would be ok. I like seeing the roads leading up to the mountain.
OK, now let’s go! Kidding of course…
The ear popping detail is very descriptive
Thanks, the altitude change is enough to have my ears feeling the pressure. Pop!
