Aren’t these wild donkeys so cute! These photos were taken in 2018 at the entrance of the now-gone Bonnie Springs Ranch. The donkeys roam freely so watch out when driving, they do hang out along the road as you can see. They also eat the dead tines from the Joshua Trees which doesn’t help the trees. I think they are the descendants of donkeys the Gold Rush people had from the 1800s. That’s a guess. Sunshine and 52 in Las Vegas just now.

Great images of the donkey.
Thank you, Anita! ❤️
Yes, they are so cute these donkeys and so sweet, John! All our snow has melted and it’s warm right now here 🙂
Thanks, Kaya! No snow is good news in my humble opinion. 😎
I like your mono edits John, lovely series of photos 🙂
Wow, thank you, Tone! I really appreciate you. 😎
I enjoy your blog when I drop by, I’ve learnt quite a bit about Las Vegas and Nevada since following you 😀
That’s great, Tone, thanks! I have enjoyed living here because of the mild climate and more.
I still think of Vegas being mostly hot during the day. I think of Tassie as mild, but expect you would think it cold.
Great photos! Donkeys have incredible voice and they are cute.
They are cute and sometimes very noisy critters!
That noise they make is amazing. There is no words to describe it.
They really are sweet fellows.
I’ve seen folks feed and pet them which is illegal and dangerous. Rabies, anyone?
Are they completely “wild” then? No one owns them? Or does someone own them and they let them graze wherever they want?
To the best of my knowledge, they are completely wild. I think it’s unfortunate that locals or tourists feed them, it’s not right. Kind of like feeding ducks bread…
I agree.
I hope Lincoln and his bird friends are OK in the cold weather, sweet critters!
I think most have survived it. I’m sure there are some little birds that didn’t make it but right now, what I don’t know won’t hurt me. The squirrels seem to be surviving well in the woodshed.
The B&W’s look like old photos. Nice!
Thank you! Exactly what I was going for. ☺️
