Check out that license plate, I instantly laughed and was in agreement with its message. I have never believed what this ass said about the safety of the Chevy Corvair. I see him as no more than a far-left asshole who should leave this country.
I have such fond memories of the Chevy Corvair as a child.
About that manual throttle, I have had cars with it. No problem, I am also used to manual gears, too, I have never driven an automatic car. That truck is beautiful, old cars have a soul.
I see, these throttles are more common than I knew! I used to drive manual transmissions years ago and would like to do so again, but they are hard to find here now, I checked recently. Probably 99% of cars and trucks here are automatic.
We have hade Saab 96 and Saab 900 with throttle.
That truck looks cool. I think my BFF had a Corvaire as one of her first cars.
That’s cool! I was surprised to see the truck version, more car photos up next! I hope your feeling better this morning.
I had a truck like that – not that make and model. But, one of those where you would faceplant on the windshield if you hit a bug. I wasn’t a fan. 🙂
Really, were the brakes to “grabby”? That sounds painful!
No, although it had a manual throttle that was ‘interesting’. I just didn’t feel comfortable with the design.
Manual throttle? Do you mean a throttle not on the floor, but in the dash panel that you push and pull? Sorry, I’m curious!
Yep. It was a was a little round button on a thin cable that you had to pull out to start the vehicle and pushed back in to slow down the idle once it was started. Except when I leant it to my brother, I started it for him and forgot to idle down – and forgot to tell him. It was up north in the middle of winter. Solid ice and snow. He drove across an unfamiliar city at full throttle. 😂😂😂. I felt so bad. 🙄
That’s so unique!
The reason I asked is that when I was a child and we lived on the big lake in Michigan, some of the older wooden boats made by Century had the throttle in the dash panel instead of on the right side next to you as a lever that was pushed forward for forward, and back for reverse.
Neutral was in between either. I was driving 19 foot powerboats with big V8 engines when I was 14 years young! Best days of my life…
This was the early 1970s, the company is still building boats today!

That’s cool. I am not a boater but Dan was big into boating, camping, etc when he was younger. He has lots of stories about towing boats and/or campers across narrow prairie bridges or out to the BC coast.
We could swap some good boating stories!
No doubt!
I grew up around boat racing, have little boats in my blood stream!
That must be painful! 😂
Maybe this is why I have high blood pressure? 😂
Yea that’s it John!
