Many times people will omit the “Las” as part of the name but it still works since Vegas is known worldwide. The name Las Vegas means The Meadow in Spanish. So, here are a few more photos that I pulled from my vast archive. A bike ride is out today since the wind speed has been building all morning and I can now hear it blasting around my doors and windows. I had a quick visit to the grocer this morning and picked up ingredients for the new pot of chili, it’s a staple in my home apparently! The old saying goes that “bean beans the magical fruit, the more you eat the more you toot”! đ

The more you toot, the better you feel. So eat your beans at every meal!
We didn’t have much wind, here. Plus, the air was nice when I went outside. Thankful for the little bit of Sunshine today.
It’s been very windy and sunny today, too windy to ride the bike.
I didn’t know that about Las Vegas meaning the Meadow. Thanks for sharing that đ
You are welcome! I’ve tried to imagine how beautiful this valley was long ago before it was taken over by the Europeans. Meaning us.
Yes we are an intrusive species lol
Is that a chipmunk? Or a squirrel with a racing stripe?
He’s a Golden Mantled Ground Squirrel, sooo cute! They make the cutest chirps and sometimes lay flat and come nose-to-nose. They are common in the Mojave Desert. I see them occasionally on the trails I bike ride too. Link:
