If there were gunfights here long ago, I’ve never heard of them. The close-up photo is of a dead or dying group of Joshua tree tines. And, one Joshua Tree photo shows a very tall tree, my guess is that the very tall trunk rises twenty feet above the ground. I’ve never been to Joshua Tree National Park but I’ve seen photos of how much larger those trees can be than any trees around here which are around five miles west of Las Vegas.

I love how colourful the landscape is. Great pictures, as always. Those bright blue skies never get old.
Amazing!
Thanks, Vinny!
Love the first Joshua tree image, John!
Thanks so much, Marcus! Good to see you back, I hope you and yours are well. 👍🏻
I especially love the first photo and seeing the texture of the plant. Fascinating.
Thanks so much! I love the new lens I picked up a couple weeks ago or so, it’s an 18-140mm lens which is decent as a macro lens yet has a decent zoom range.
Very interesting!
Great desert scenes, John.
Is there some reason why they are called JOSHUA trees?
There sure is, AnneMarie, below is a link that will tell you all about it! ❤️
