Winter In The Spring Mountains

This image was captured early today from the parking area at the fossil fields. You are looking west at the foothills of the eastern flank of this portion of the Spring Mountain range. Many mountain ranges in Nevada are sometimes called Island ranges because there is a large distance between them. Simple, right? I’ve said this before but want to mention again that behind Alaska, Nevada is the most mountainous state of the union.

Mountain Love!

    • It is cold up there, I’m guessing the snow was at or above 5000 feet to keep the snow up there. A lovely view!
