I recently purchased the Nik photo software suite but haven’t used it much, so I grabbed some old photos and tried this suite of effects. The road photo was taken a couple days ago though. What do you think?

I love Nik software a lot, John! This software has the best editing in black and while with a very well developed algorithm. Silver Efex Pro 2. It has so many films and other effects. It took for me a while to learn how to use it but it was worthwhile. I usually use Color Efex pro 4. John, you have right now a great editing software. Good luck with it.
OK, thanks for the thumbs up, Kaya. I have used both apps you mentioned, the grayscale app is nice.
They have a great suite of programs. I use Silver Efex Pro for my B&W conversions. I’d recommend learning the program as it gives you many resources to selectively change parts of your photo.
Thank you for the tip, Tim, it has plenty of options for sure.
Yes it does but worth the study.
I have difficulty understanding some of the options in these apps, especially Photoshop, tried it long ago.
Yes these programs can be CHALLENGING. You should check with your library system to see if have a subscription to Linkin.com. This used to be Lynda.com. If they do you can take courses in Photoshop, Silver Efex Pro and other software for free.
I have the Nik software suite on my MacBook.
Here the library allows online access to Linking.com.
Very good. I’m glad you yelled at the owner. Dare I ask if it was on a leash?
You may dare to ask! Gladly, the damn dog was leashed. It was VERY close to my foot and leg before the guy stopped the dog. I shouted back at him “what the ****!!” I was pissed. The electric motor can accelerate the bike very quickly which is great when crossing busy roads and avoiding mean dogs that owners shouldn’t be walking on a public biking, walking and jogging trail. Asswipe…
It certainly gives them that old-time look.
Thanks, Anneli, exactly what I’m after.
Those are pretty cool!
Thanks so much, AnneMarie! Just got back from a bike ride, no photos today, it was a short ride and some jackass’ dog almost bit me on the Lone Mountain Trail! I shouted some choice words at the owner…
