I don’t know how many people visit this site proper, that is they don’t use the Reader thing but I changed the look of the pages today. The text area is plain old white or #ffffff in HTML, the background color is now #f5f5f5 or an off-white. Modern websites use white to simplify the look of the site and to focus the reader’s attention on the content.
