Late yesterday, I heard an odd sound in the living room and got up to have a look around. I found out from the plumber this morning that this valve had locked up and won’t close. It was 26 years old and finally, let go which broke the plastic pipe and had water shooting up in the front yard and running down the driveway. It wasn’t a cheap repair but it had to be done because the house had no water for about 15 hours or so. Owning a home is like owning a boat, it’s a hole in the water into which one pours money!

Oh now I saw and read your post about the ceiling… π
It is always something with a house… but glad there wasn’t damage!
Thanks, and me too, Lisa! ππ»β€οΈ
Our boat came with a plaque that had that saying on it. It was true too.
I’m sorry abut that, Anneli. Oops! Its true though which sucks. π
Always something. Glad it wasn’t worse and you could get it repaired fairly quickly.
Yikes – what a bummer. Sorry to hear. You’re right about home ownership, you have to fix it when it (whatever it it may be) happens. Glad you were able to find someone to fix it that fast.
Thanks, Shelley, whip out that credit card! Now, let’s go check it’s balance! Ouch… π
Yikes – those surprise repairs are never cheap!
Nope, it was a few hundred bucks! Ouch. π
Ouch…that hurts!
Yeah!
I don’t really like this post, but great that you could get help!
That’s okay, Maria, no worries! Things could be so much worse. I hope your weekend was good! β€οΈπΈπͺ
Yes, that is a good way to look at things. The weekend was great. I planted about ten berry bushes this weekend, and lots of cabbage. I also made two new friends, perhaps that was the best part π
That sounds delicious! New friends are always good too. πππ»
