The photos show the sharp change in elevation, don’t they? I think the west side of the valley has a much sharper change than does the east. It’s 8 AM and already 90 degrees outside, heading for 106 with partly sunny conditions. Come feel the heat with me! How is your Wednesday going?

Great view, I thought of LV as all flat for some reason. Finished my breakfast now, better go feed the ponies 😀
Oh no, the valley has varying heights of mountains around us. The big mountains are just northwest of us at 11,916 feet, that’s Mount Charleston, the other one is Fletcher peak which is almost as high.
Thats hot !!! My daughter is headed there next week after a few nights in Death Valley !!!
Yes, it’s always blazing hot here in summer! Death Valley isn’t far from here and it’s very beautiful too. I hope your daughter has a great time here, Ian! I’ve met a few British folks here over the years that have moved here, I guess they love the summer heat too. Winter temps are very nice, 40s and 50s at night and 50s and 60s in the day.
That’s pretty brave of her to visit Death Valley this time of year!
Yeah, you got that right! Even hotter than the valley! 🔥
Absolutely. I hope theyve done the research !!
It will likely be very hot!
