It was really nice to be deep in the green woods of my home state recently. I never really thought about it this way before until I left. Sunshine and 108 degrees today, not bad!

I find parks to be a big necessity in cities and towns, Las Vegas has an incredible number of public parks around the city which is wonderful.

Yes, you can keep the flies and mosquitoes, but I think I’d still take the green over the heat.
You must have stinging flies and skeeters up there too in summer, Anneli? the heat here will be gone in about 30 days. Time for me to resume my bike rides!
We did this year! Usually it’s not bad at all, but this year it seemed to be a bit more humid and the black flies were really bad at our place. We have lots of trees in our yard so I think that made it worse. They seem to have disappeared now but we do have a few mosquitoes still whining around. Looking forward to a milder week ahead
I see, and a milder winter too. Does a mild weather pattern flow through your area in winter? I read somewhere that there is a warm weather pattern that flows north from the Hawaiian Islands into your area.
Yes, our winters can be quite mild, but in the last few years we’ve had some really harsh stints with snow blizzards that only last a few days and then it’s back to wind and rain. Usually we are above freezing.
I see, it’s nice to be above freezing isn’t it! Maybe you will be blizzard-free this winter.
