Opening the door to the backyard this morning I was greeted by a soaking wet scene. It continues. The weather here has gone mad! I’ve never seen so much rain during the winter months but as I’ve said, the rain is badly needed. No complaint here, 55 for the high with rain. This view is at the end of my street.

We actually flew into Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago and went on a road trip through southern Utah. We flew home on Monday, but managed to squeeze in a short visit to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The rain that morning was insane and caused flooding on the road. They ended up closing the scenic drive shortly after we left.
It was on the news about you lot across the pond. Terrible weather you’ve been having!
I like that photo, very nice. We are supposed to get a snow/rain mix tomorrow but it’s really cold here so that will make driving and walking pretty slick
Yes, please be careful! Maybe not drive if possible. It’s been blowing and raining on and off here all day, weird weather for Vegas in the winter…
Rain is good.
Yes, very good! As much as I gripe about (shame on me), we need it so badly. It’s raining again as I type this… I need to look on the web to see if Lake Mead has come up any.
Maybe half an inch? You need some west coast rain for a few months.
I just had a look, the lake level has risen about 24 inches which is great, but most of the water comes from the Colorado, Utah and Wyoming snow melt. The snow pack in those states is higher than usual because of the storms now so perhaps the lake will rise much more in the spring! The lake is at 28% of full pond at the moment, very sad.
Well, that’s a good start!
It sure is, I hope the snow melt is major this spring! ❤️
