Joshua Trees are beautiful and true survivors as they can live as long as 1000 years but live on average 500 years! Beautiful to see up close but do not touch those tines unless you want to check your blood glucose! Please follow this link to learn more about this amazing Yucca.

Wow! Fantastic photos.
Those trees are great and I didn’t know they lived that long either
I had no idea that Joshua Trees could live so long. They are such fascinating and beautiful trees.
Super pretty looking day.
Yes indeed, we have 300+ days per year of sunshine, it’s sunny just now and 53F outside. Colder than normal in my view…
I didn’t even go outside this weekend. I stepped out onto the porch and when I tried closing the door, my fingers stuck to the knob. It was so cold wasn’t fit out. I stayed in and read. It was much better today above zero Celsius
Wow, Kelly, Perhaps you could move much further south?
When I retire I’ll probably spend winter’s in a warmer climate.
Those spiky leaves keep them alive.
The same as a deciduous tree! Palms and Yucca are better.
I like the shadow self portrait in the lower left if the final image.
Yeah, that is why I took the next photo up close. I love these trees, they are my Desert People!
And from your link I learned they are not trees at all!
Nope, they are in the Yucca family. There are other, shorter yucca here too, they look very different.
