A Huge Weather Change

Thanks to the Atmospheric River that the weather channel talks about, our weather have gone from what you see in the iPhone photo of the palm trees and mountains yesterday on the bike to the very gray photo I took a few minutes ago with the Nikn and 200mm Nikkor of the small mountains just west of my home.

The photo of my TV sums it all up. But I’d rather be here than on the Pacific Coast right now as those people are taking a serious beating from that river I mentioned. It’s really very nice to just stay home all day and enjoy my favorite TV programs and play ham radio and blog.

  1. Definitely a bit chilly when we were there at the beginning of the month – thankfully rained on us only once, but the winds were outrageous – had to land in 50mph winds when made for some tight grips on the seats.

  2. such a weird winter for everyone, hopefully it is coming to an end soon. A friend told me we are supposed to have a dry, hot summer according to the Farmers’ Alamanac she said.

  3. One of my friends from back home said, “They are wearing coats in the desert!” I cannot even fathom the wonky weather that is happening in the west, John! Cher xoxoxo

    • Hi Cher! The funny truth of this is that when we have our normal winter weather which is warmer than this crazy winter, a few people DO wear winter coats, the kind with the faux fur around the hoodie! I always chuckle when I see them. These people that have lived here their entire lives have no clue what REAL cold is! And you and I both know what that really is! 😂🇨🇦❤️

      • That is too funny, John! And yes, we most certainly do, don’t we? How ’bout a good old fashioned Michigan/Manitoba winter? Yep, they would run for the border! LOL Cher xoxoxo

  4. We’re dealing with very cold temps for us. The bad part is that it had been so warm that plants starting growing and blooming and this well below freezing temps are putting them at serious risk.

    • That’s not good, Rebecca! This winter has been so crazy everywhere. I hope the plants live through this, the northeast is getting beat up bad as is the west coast!

  5. The end of week looks pretty nice. It’s getting a little warmer where I live, and I hope it stays that way.

    • Thanks, Kaya, the 70s were in the forecast but that went away… I’ll take the 60s and we need the rain so badly. 😊

    • Hi Anne Marie, it always comes back eventually of course but more so here in the desert. Be well! ☺️
