I really miss boating having grown up boating on this lake and also outboard and drag boat racing. So, why do I live in the Mojave Desert? That’s a good question! Answer: I am now 62 years young and have slowed down a bit, that’s not to say that I can’t hop on a sled (snowmobile) and go for a blast through the woods or put a boat on-plane again. I ordered new frames today, they should be ready in a week or so. While on holiday, the left lens decided that it wants to fall out of the frame whenever it suits it. Nope! Have you checked the prices for new glasses these days? What the hell man!
Same here, specialy the prices of the lenses – but we can recover a small amount from health care (or take an extra insurance, then you get more in money back)
That seems like a good deal, Rudi! Our health care system really sucks in my opinion. But which is better, socialized medical care or our for-profit system…
You can have the best of two worlds, the green and lake life when visiting friends and the hot weather you like so much the rest of the year 🙂
And yes, glasses, frames and lenses cost a small fortune nowadays. I have a subscription where you rent your glasses for a small monthly cost, yearly eye-checkups, and exchange of glasses/frames when needed is included (you get one change of frames/year, and unlimited change of the lenses as needed. Unlimited professional cleaning/repairs at the store is also included, and cleaning supplies to use at home.)
