I’ve killed Cactus before. I swear, I have a Blue Thumb.

I’m such a fan of cacti. I love how there’s so many different varieties. The next time we head to the desert, I’d like to time it so we can see them when they’re in bloom.

I love cactus! (probably because we don’t have them here in Canada!). Enjoy the intense heat! (here it’s not too bad this summer, but it has been very stormy).

Hi Vanessa, cactus are amazing with so many varieties! It was about 111F today, its a real shock when you step outside into that kind of heat from inside where it’s about 75 degrees. You don’t want to mess around with this kind of heat, it can be deadly.

Wow, that heat! We’re having a very mild, wet & windy summer so far here in Wales.

That sounds very nice! You arenβt being roasted alive! π₯π

I didn’t know that it can snow in that country! Four of your comments went to spam including this one, Pooja, no idea why!

It’s an issue on my end, Akismet marked me as spam for whatever reason π³
Yes, it never snows in Kenya it’s only happened twice over the last decade so we were all shocked!

I made the mistake of kicking a piece of cholla cactus off the path and was surprised that the spines went right through my leather runners. Ouch!

Oh my gosh, those are so full of spines! Ouch indeed, Anneli! It pays to keep a sharp eye on the plants you are walking through in the desert. ππ€

Yup! I found that out the hard way, but it’s a lesson I haven’t forgotten.

It’s kind of funny that people say watch out for rattlesnakes here but I have never seen one when walking the desert floor… Good thing!
