Hiking The Desert Floor

These beauties were taken while hiking around the Spring Mountain Ranch State Park probably two years ago with my old Nikon D3300 body. The website says the park is closed which is zero surprise right? Two things that I seriously want to do when this situation passes is hop on a big jet plane and go home to Michigan and see my children and the family! And of course get my bum back out in the open desert for some fresh photography. I miss the freedom!

The Itchy Burro

Or as I pronounce it, Burrah. This guy and others were grouped around the entrance sign for the now dead and gone Bonnie Springs Ranch. The last drive out that way the very large sign was still there. Why? You land developers suck!! But I don’t have an opinion… 😂😂

At Spring Mountain Ranch State Park

I visited this local state park about two years ago and really enjoyed the walks both inside the old homestead house and around the trails. If your in the area, do stop by. There is of course a fee for entry as it’s a state park. In photo one you can easily see the pixels coming apart due to my now heavily reducing the file sizes. Sorry about this, friends and thank you, WordPress.

Hoover Dam and Lake Mead

Here are some goodies from a bit back. Photos will never truly capture the real size and beauty of our Hoover Dam which powers not only Las Vegas but other states in the American Southwest. I intended to take another half day trip to Boulder City over the winter but never made it, bummer.

When you walk on the dam itself, have a look over the edges and see the intake towers, you’ll soon realise how magnificent a structure it really is. And it was constructed in an era that never had the kinds of construction tools that are available today, the workers were brave and great Americans too.

Good Morning from My Space

My space, my place for which I am so grateful for. This small space has kept my brain from going nuts during this time. This time will pass but in the mean time I really miss getting out and about for my photography addiction haha! I was thinking this morning about my dad, the kids and my sister. As soon as it’s possible to hop an Airbus A320 I’m heading up to Michigan to see my babies and the rest of the family, I miss them so much! Sorry for the redundant photos.

Las Vegas will see sunshine and 91 degrees today!

The Valley Floor

If you look to the left side of this photo about two thirds the way down you can barely see Las Vegas Valley which from this location is several miles to the east. I’m inside the twelve mile loop scenic drive which is run by the BLM and is a US Fee area. It sucks that we have to pay to enter, haven’t we already paid for entrance via our state, local and federal taxes?

Welcome Back, Sunshine!

This morning has been beautiful, a high of 77F today. I sat in my favorite chair soaking up that beautiful sunshine and some vitamin D for a bit. I snapped these photos and went back in to whip up this post. Happy Easter! 🙏🏻❤️🌞

Boulder City, Nevada

These photos are from about two years ago on one of my visits to beautiful Hoover Dam. No dam photos but I crossed the big bridge in Arizona and turned around. Digging deep into my archives, I meant to get back out there for more photos but not now. Photos via Nikon D3300.

Out Of Business

These pedicure chairs used to be in the salon where I had my feet taken care of every two weeks or so thanks to Diabetes. Apparently the business has closed, how sad for the owners and we customers. All because of something so small we can’t see it. Bullshit! This situation will devastate millions of small businesses which I see as the core of what makes the United States what it has been for so long. When this is done, America will have a new face.

The Beautiful Silo

I completely understand this farm life image. On the old car tour we passed this beautiful painting on the sides of three silos, my one regret today is that I didn’t have a Nikon in hand for the shot. A ‘modern’ iPhone just can’t equal the Nikon. iPhone photo taken in Georgia 2015.

Ford Sign and Antique Fuel Pumps

Here’s yet another iPhone photo from 2015 somewhere in Georgia. This man has a seriously huge collection of several kinds of antiques. One would have to spend plenty of time there to capture everything and with a proper camera. I still have several images to upload of the interiour of the barn. Wow…

Country Roads and Mom’s Yard Decor

Three photos from I don’t know when actually when but they are all iPhone photos. Mom had a wonder sense of design both indoor and out. She passed in 2012 yet her indoor and out decor is still unchanged. As it should be. 🙏🏻

This is where I am actually from, not the Mojave Desert 😎

More Antiques

Here are four more iPhone photos from 2015 on the old car tour. Are ya tired of these yet? I hope not because I have plenty more to upload! I hope you and yours are all well this day.
