There is no snow on the ski slopes at the moment but it’s beautiful up there! This photo is from about two years ago, it appears that I am on a chair heading up the mountain, but I’m not. It’s just the angle the photo was taken at with the zoom lens using the old Nikon D3300 body. The forecast up there today is 86 degrees and 111 down here!
These photos were snapped yesterday in the northwest area of the valley and show the incline as you head west toward the Spring Mountains. Today’s heat is forecast at 109 and increasing to 113 by Thursday. This is dangerously hot for anyone, more so for people like me who have a compromised heart and diabetes. Stay cool, people!
These are two older sunset pics and our beautiful American flag photo taken yesterday under that beautiful blue Mojave Desert sky. A sky that I never tire of. What I do tire of are the lunatics failing so terribly at running my country. Our president is very senile and should not be in office, his politics on the wrong side of the wall.
Just a few clicks for you this beautiful sunny morning in Las Vegas, it was a wonderful day yesterday and today promises 108 degrees. By mid-week the valley will see 111 to 115 degrees, this is a serious heatwave and the authorities here are putting the warning out early.
The sign in one photo states that a dog park is being built within a park. Eh? Dogs have always run around this park on a leash or not so why are they doing this? The photo of a peak with blue sky is Lone Mountain. It’s just 600 feet or so high and is a local favorite for hikers. A hike that I can’t make because of my heart and I’ve tried twice!
Stay cool wherever you are today my friends. 😎🌴
It was nice to take another joyride this very hot afternoon, windows down and feelin’ the warm summer breeze. In summer, it seems that the heat drives the nasty smog out of the valley but that’s a guess. The official temperature at this moment is 100F, just two degrees from what is forecast. I hope your weekend is going well, friends!
This guy is Charlie McCarthy, I did a little bit more processing on him this morning, now he looks like a child. 😂
The textures of the Mexican Fan Palm are nothing like the Deciduous tree. The Nikkor 24/200mm lens works pretty well as a macro lens doesn’t it? Our weather is going to heat up next week to around 112 degrees but just 97 degrees for today. There are plenty of people in Las Vegas that really do love this much heat on a daily basis.
Names such as Stinking Creek Road and Big Bone Lick State Park make traveling from Michigan to Florida kind of fun. Who came up with these names? These photos were taken a few years ago during one of my twice-yearly trips from Michigan to Florida, then drive the big rig back to Michigan in the spring. Fun!
The last time I did this was in 2020 before the virus came along. Well, I avoided the virus thus far but a nasty kidney stone was waiting to whoop my bum when I got down there. ouch, this is stone number two. Number one was during the 1990s. And the damn doctor told me that I’d likely not have another stone!
It was a busy morning including taking some iPhone photos of the flowers at the grocery store. Today’s weather is sunny, 90 degrees with a stiff wind but over the next few days Las Vegas will heat up to 110 to 112 degrees, the heat warnings are already being broadcast on the NWS transmitters and online. I hope the old AC system in this home will get through another scorching summer. And I’m still waiting on calls or emails for work which sucks…
