I’m slowly burning through the photos from the park the other day. Why do trees look better in full black and white? Not gray-scale, but full black and white? They do to me anyway. The photo of the road is also BW since the sun wasn’t fully out so I flipped it. That damned mask was photographed today as I walked to my truck from the grocery store. Does human trash drop human trash on the parking lot? Come on, Americans, you can do better…
There are many kinds of critters at this park, the goose was literally three feet from me so I got as good a photo as I could with the 200mm lens, too close for a sharp photo. The cute turtles stayed put as I slowly approached the log then one dropped in the drink right after I clicked the shutter. How about that foot sticking up to catch the sun’s warmth? The Coot swimming away from me has a bad right foot, it was very sad to watch it hobble to the water’s edge then just fall into the water, plop. Poor little bird, I wish I could help it. I wonder how it was damaged? A turtle?
These birds live a tough life of cleaning up and swimming all day. No bills, no taxes, just living.
It is so beautiful outside today that I decided to head back to the park for some bird photos again. I was a bit disappointed though as there weren’t many birds there in terms of species, mostly ducks, geese, and plenty of coots. The turtles were a nice surprise though, I thought they were Snapping turtles but they look more like Painted turtles basking in the warm noon sunshine. My sister and I had turtles as pets when we were children.
Not new but still some of my better photos. 😎
Here is a mix of my stuff and not my stuff. Do you think the DHL driver was fired for his miscalculation? That’s a whopper of a screwup! The sunset photo from the other night that’s not cartooned is actually straight out of the Nikon, with no processing except for the file size reduction.
The photo that has Fremont Street in it was taken on the way to lunch a couple of days ago. Fremont Street looked pretty darn busy in there. Very early this morning I had a phone chat with my dad to see if he’s back in Michigan safely, yes indeed. What is it like to fly during Covid days?
This has me wondering if I can make the journey up there next month after I receive the second Pfizer vaccine injection. He was not asked for his proof of vaccination card, I thought it would have to be shown to board the aircraft but everyone has to wear a mask the entire flight. How uncomfortable this must be, right?
Bored this afternoon, I snapped a photo of the dining room light over the table and processed the crap out of it. I used iColorama, Aurora HDR, and Photoscape X which are my usual workhorses. Meanwhile, the strong winds have returned since around ten this morning but still such a beautiful spring day in the valley with sunshine and 85 delightful degrees. And before ya know it, it’ll be 115 degrees again. I hope the heat is less intense than last summer.
Last night’s sunset did not disappoint! So many lovely colors, I did as little processing as possible on these photos.
