This serpent shows up every year it seems in Downtown Summerlin, it’s kind of cute I guess but the water is always super clear. The waterfall was turned off so no video of that with its shimmering in the sun and relaxing sound. The Las Vegas forecast for today is full sunshine and 73 lovely degrees, yes! Another fine day for a bike ride. What will it be like riding in 110F weather this summer? I’ll tell you when the summer heat returns.
These photos were taken this morning before my bike ride, the One Summerlin building has nice lines, the wavy gold photo is part of a much longer sign, I photographed just the right side of it. And, the guy’s face is a complete accident. I was standing on the very corner of a building, framed the shot and took. Just then, this guy walks in front of the lends, oops! He didn’t even stop, possibly because I have the audible click sound turned off. Sorry, whoever you are! I did a thirteen-mile ride today, such a beautiful day but just a bit too windy for my bike liking…
All the way from 2018 I give you a random collection of photos this afternoon. The little dinosaur was found in the parking area at Calico Basin, someone’s child is crying somewhere! But, it does point out that there are still live dinosaurs in the Mojave Desert. The old aircraft might be a McDonell Douglas aircraft. And the trash at the garbage bin was right in front of my apartment back in 2016, I despised that apartment and still do. Apartment life sucks!
Treasure Island Resort seems OK, I’ve never been inside the place. The Stratosphere Tower was likely photographed heading south on Las Vegas Boulevard, well north of the main venues, you are probably familiar with. Finally, the photo with the building in the foreground is the One Summerlin Building, located in Downtown Summerlin. Many of the big-name resorts are visible in the distance which is much further away than they appear in the photo.
Here are some road clicks from this morning for ya. Are those real clouds up there? That limousine was amazing, the photo does not show how long the damn thing actually is. I’ve driven tractor-trailers and other large vehicles in years past, but not something like that limo. You are very limited in where you can go given the turning radius of that car. The building with the sun over it is the One Summerlin building located in Downtown Summerlin. 77 lovely degrees today!
I’ve had several things to take care of today due to being down an entire day yesterday so off I go under another beautiful blue Las Vegas Sky! I just never tire of them. I’ll peel off the large bandage over the incision point this afternoon, I’ve read what to do if something doesn’t look right. The office sends you home with plenty of information and I expect no worries or problems twenty-four hours after it was applied. Fingers crossed! these are 50mm photos.
Between Rampart Boulevard and the 215 freeway, West Lake Mead Boulevard passes through some very high-dollar real estate areas. Many beautiful homes line the subdivision streets, homes that are well above my bank account! I took these shots yesterday on the way to the doctor’s office using the 50mm lens. Sunshine and 70 degrees are forecast for today!
Sun City, Summerlin is a big-dollar real estate area with fine golf courses designed by Del Webb who was a real estate developer and co-owner of the New York Yankees. He passed in 1974. There are numerous Del Webb communities around the country, at least one is in Michigan. I had to drive to a different bank location as my usual branch’ machine was down. That meant a ride east into this lovely area which is way too expensive for my bank account!
Like yesterday and these photos, today is as beautiful, not one cloud in the sky! Mojave Desert beauty.
I stopped by Downtown Summerlin again today looking for job opportunities. The Concierge is looking for new employees so I filled out the forms. It’s so unusual to apply for any job in person these days and frankly, I prefer it this way. Applying for work online removes the one-on-one aspect of course which diminishes the process.
Anyway, while there I had the Nikon and the new, trusty 50mm lens on hand so I snapped about two dozen photos. Here is the first set. It’s currently 93F just now with full sunshine, perfect!
They may be just another little strip mall but some of them here have some dandy mountain views with a few palm trees tossed in to enhance the view. Summerlin Parkway is an east/west freeway that’s not too long. At the west end, it stops at the foothills. Heading east, it links up with the ninety-five freeway which goes north/south.
